Camilla's Algebra Scribe Post

I chose number 6 and number 9 in page 338 in the textbook.

a)  Describe patterns shown on this graph. Does the graph show a linear relation? Explain

The quantities of banana chips are 0g to 400g. They are linear because the dots form up a straight line.

b) Make a table of value from graph

c)Is it reasonable to include a point on the graph to show the cost of 250 g of banana chips? Explain

Yeah, It is possible to buy banana chips that are not that the same multiples of 100

9.
a) Make a table of values from the graph
b) What is the hourly rate of pay shown on this graph?

The hourly rate of pay is 15$

c) Do you think it is reasonable to include a point for t=3.5?

Yes, I think its reasonable because you can include a point for h=3.5, the employee will work for 3 and a half ours.

Camilla's Pay it Forward

Part 1.

What is "Pay it Forward"?

Pay it Forward is an act of kindness you do for others without asking them for anything, you just do it for free to help out. And if you do an act of kindness they might do the same and past it on, and it goes on and on and on. This is a way to help change your country to a better place.

Part 2.

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

I did my pay it forward with chantelle and we decided we should donate the things we don't need to the children out there. Where we donated was a fire place and they take the stuff we donated to the children who needed it. We also made food for the firemen to thank them for helping our community.

Why did you choose this activity?

We chose this activity is because we knew that there are children out there that needed clothes, shelter, ect. And I wanted to this activity is because I felt sorry for the children that needed things we have, also I wanted to help the firemen because they helped are community to be more safer.

Who did you help?

We help the firemen with the stuff we donated to give to the children.

What did you do?

What I did was find all the stuff i needed to give to the children like stuff toys and we also gave are jackets we don't need (are jackets were still new and fresh) and gave it to the firemen to give it to the children. Chantelle did the same.

When did you do you act of kindness?

I did the act of kindness on December 1st, 2012.

Part 3.

How did your act of kindness go?

My act of kindness was a success because they were happy that we gave them a lot of things to donate!

What Happened?

We went to fireplace to give the stuff we donated for the children

How did you feel?

I felt so happy and proud of myself, I haven't really done this for a while... And I feel like doing more kindness to other people.

How did the person or people react?

The person reacted like he was really proud of us, and he was really happy too.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?

We actually forgot to say pay it forward to him in person but we did say it on the phone.

How did they react to your request?

I think he felt like he would do the same what we did.

Part 4.

Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?

Pay it forward is important because you can make a difference in the world with your act of kindness and it will spread on and on and on. And it will help the people out there who need help.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?

I don't really know but I think it did made a difference because the person looked really happy that we donated are old things we don't need, and it'll will make the children happy, and it made him happy.

Camilla's Fraction Scribepost

Questions: 2/9 divide 5/6
                 1/10 divide 1/5
                 3 1/6 divide 1 2/3

First I estimated the question by using a diagram to see which one is less or greater. How did I used it? I used by questioning "how many groups of 5/6 are in 2/9?" and then I drew diagram of 5/6 and drew a diagram of 2/9 which leads me to 2/9 is lesser then 5/6.

How did I find the answer?
I found the answer my using the reciprocal method because its much easier for me to find the answer.

So my answer for this question is 12/45.

I estimated it using a diagram to see which one is less or greater which leads to me to 1/5 is greater then 1/10. Same this I did with the first question.
How did I find the answer?

I used the reciprocal method again because its much easier for me to find the answer.
So my answer for this question is 5/10.

First I convert each mixed fraction to an improper which leads to 19/6 divide 5/3. Then I couldn't estimate is because it was improper.

I used the reciprocal way to answer my question and it equals to 57/30 I cant make it a proper fraction because it cant.
So my answer for this question is 57/30

Part5)
1) Does this seem fair?
I don't think its fair.
2)With what you know about proportion look and read what is in the image above.  Does it seem just and fair?
I still dont think its fair..
3) Why have you made this choice?
Because a homeless man get 15 years in jail because he stole 100$ and the other person get to go in jail for only 40 months for stealing 3 billion dollars, that's not fair.
4)What would you have done if you were the judge?
If I was the judge I would do is give two months for the homeless person who stole 100$ and 15 years for the person who stole 3 billion dollars.
