My overall impression of the We Day event was awesome. It was breath taking and unbelievable from the beginning to the end. I am very thankful and grateful to be given the chance to go to We Day. I was really excited since I woke up this morning. I was even bragging to my little brother that I was going to We Day. It was really fun to see speakers talk about We Day and share information and personal experience. I liked how we got to walk around and get pictures, signatures, buy stuff and other things. We took tons of pictures to remember those moments. Some people were even photo bombing behind us and it was so funny. Although it was very crowded during the lunch hour, but it was expected. The concert was great, I was cheering and screaming most of the time. I had a marvelous time especially with the singers and the speakers who inspired me.
The speakers who impacted me were Mark and Craig Kielburger, Spencer West and Molly Burke. I liked how Mark and Craig took action to make a difference in the world. Their stories and experiences sent me powerful messages. Spencer was the type of guy who wouldn't give up, he is very courageous and strong physically, mentally and emotionally. He motivated me to be determined to what I want to do and to never give up. Also to redifine possible. The fact that he reached the top of a mountain using his hands with his best friends really hit me. I was kind of tearing up too. Now with Molly Burke, I like how she stays strong. She inspired me to be strong like her and to find my voice in my weakest moments. What had impacted me the most about her was when she told us she lost her eye sight. I felt sympathy for her but at the same time I looked up to her. I also liked her friendship with her dog.
For music, I can simply say I loved it! It started with Jesse Giddings, the way he introduced each speaker and singer. I just love him! The singers such as Shawn Desman, Lights, Victoria Duffield, Robb Nash and all the others were incredible. I wanted them to come to our row so we could touch their hands or something. Shawn Desman and Lights were my favorite, I've always loved their songs. I was singing along, cheering and clapping, their songs were amazing. It was great seeing people sing along too! The We Day dance this year was really fun. The dance steps were simple but I loved doing them. The cross-over, the boogie, the traffic control and the snap, clap. Oh good times.
The Law of the Few is all about a small amount of people making a difference and will eventually become larger and larger. Never underestimate the power of the few to create change.
The Law of Will is about what Nellie Mclung once said, "never retreat, never explain and never apologize". It is also about standing up for what you believe in.
The Law of We is just saying that together we can make a change. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has" -Margaret Mead

My We Day Experience
Overall Impression:
My overall impression of WeDay was that it was simply inspiring. When Spencer West came on the stage I was just so impressed that he could do all this stuff without legs, like I didn't know that Spencer climbed up to the peak of Mount Killamanjaro. It was outstanding that I saw so much support from famous people like Lights, Shawn Desmund, and All-Star Weekend. I was so proud of myself that I got selected to attend WeDay because it changes how you act, it tells you that you have purpose in life. You're not just a simple person, you can be hero and help the other families have the life you have today.
Speakers That Impacted Me:
Molly Burke impacted me because she stood up to bullying, she fights through it everyday and she speaks with her voice proudly. She told a breath-taking story and she impacted me, on how I act. She said that she was bullied constantly at school and one day she got bullied so much she became blind. I was totally sad for her and the bullies should be ashamed. She said she was desperate for friendship and I felt a tug on my heart that really hurt. She said we are all victims of bullying, and she's right because everyday there's one person that gets bullied and the recent story about Amanda Todd is that she hung herself because she was getting all this hatred thrown at her. It's not right, if we all stand up to bullying we can make a change, a change that will make the world a much better place for the ex-victims of bullying. Not only do we use our voice to help, or to talk, but we use it to rise up to our problems and face it with all of our courage.
Mikhail Gorbachev has impacted me too because without his courage to stand up and end the Cold War, we would not have the peace we have today. He talked and talked to all the Commanding Forces of U.S.A and he ended the Cold War. He has brought upon a noble peace prize for doing what he did. He stopped 100,000 nuclear bombs and they were supposed to be launched so they can engage war. So we owe him a huge thank you because he changed the world, if one man can stop a war, if a man without legs can reach the peak of Mount Killamanjaro, then we can do anything to change the world, and imagine if we all did one thing, we would can make impossible, possible and how we can do that, is we come to WeDay and show our support by doing their campaigns.

The Law of the Few: An action that a few amount of people do because they want to be a change, then later on they end up with so much support from the people that were inspired like Spencer West, he only had a couple of friends and his family supporting him, but now there are thousands of people supporting him from Vancouver, Alberta, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Minnesota.

My We Day Experience
Experience on We Day
Still can't believe that I just had the best experience I ever had at "We Day". Being there at We Day changed my impression to the world. Some people in different countries are living in poverty and doesn't even have any clean water. Kids doesn't even have any proper education. That is why We Day is a day to be the change. They inspire our generation of kids to lead global change. Being there seeing all of those speakers that made a difference to the world are truly brilliant and inspirational. There are also performers there that did amazing like Shawn Desman, Lights, Victoria Duffield and Tyler Shaw. I was so excited hearing them sing live it was a really great day. All of those people made me pumped up on We Day. Honestly I was lucky to be picked as one of the people to go there. My experience on We Day was fun, exciting and inspirational. You should spread the word and tell everybody to take action, make a difference and be the change.
Music:
The performers were Lights, Shawn Desman, Victoria Duffield, All Star Weekend, Justin Nozuka, Tyler Shaw and Rob Nash. All of the performers were great; I especially liked it when Shawn Desman, Lights and Tyler Shaw sang. When Jessie Giddings introduced them I was screaming already. Their voices was just amazing that makes you pumped up. I was singing with them to their songs and it was a lot of fun.
That day is a memory to keep.
Lights - Toes
Victoria Duffield - Break my Heart
All Star Weekend - Not Your Birthday
Justin Nozuka
Tyler Shaw - Kiss Goodnight
Rob Nash
Shawn Desman - Nobody Does It Like You
Who impacted me:
Who impacted me? Well I think all of the speakers did; Molly Burke, Hannah Taylor, Mickhail Gorbachev, Spencer West and many more. All of them did something different to make the world a better place for you and for me. They all told different stories that happened in their lives but Molly Burke had really inspired me. When she talked about her past about being bullied, it had really impacted me in many ways to stand up for bullying. For some people getting bullied like her, how can you go on and not give up? Well, Molly thought about giving up but she found her voice telling her to stand up, even though she lost her courage, dignity and her sight, yes that's right her sight! Even though Molly was blind, she was still one of the most courageous girl I had ever seen. She was inspirational.

My We Day Expierience
I woke up this morning and I was so excited. I couldn't even sleep last night. I kept thinking to myself"This is the day I have been waiting for!" I was just so excited. I couldn't even believe it. When I first got there I was so nervous. When it started I was simply ecstatic. ALL the speeches and performances I heard inspired me, but I would like to single out the ones that impacted me the most.
The performance that impacted me the most was Molly Burke and Lights. Molly Burke impacted me because I was bullied. I sometimes still am. I just can't believe that the girls that bullied her to the point that her vision was lost. At first I didn't even realize that she was blind until the lights went down and she said that she was. I felt like crying, it was unbelievable. Lights impacted me because she is such an amazing performer and musician. She is my idol. She inspires me to follow my dreams and believe.
Another great We Day in the 'Peg. These days I have so much faith in this generation. Keep walking the path! #weday
P.S: SPENCER WEST IS THE BEST !!!

Part 1
Please define
- ratio - a relationship between two quantities nomally expressed as the quotient of one divided by the other.
- rate - a certain quantity or amount of one thing considered in relation to a unit of another thing and used as a standard or measure or a fixed charge per unit of quantity
- proportion - comparitive relation between things or magnitudes as to size, quantity, number, etc....
Part 2
Copy these questions into your post. Answer them using proportion statements.- 5 hours to travel 360 kilometers is about __72___km/h.
- Emma saves 28 cents of every dollar that she earns. Emma earned $75 last week. How much money did Emma save last week? 75 x .28 = $21.00
Part 3
What are the three ways you can prove that equivalent ratio statements are true?3/4 = 12/16 or 4/9 = 16/32
1 horizontally 2 vertically and cross multiplication
Part 4
Find a video about using proportion and embed it in your post. Make sure you select the small size of the video. (Bonus Marks if you make your own video about proportion and embed it)http://youtu.be/P_aQPxr2G_4
Task 5
We are starting to engage in discussions about social justice. What do you think about this image below. Use the link to copy it into your post. Then answer the questions
- Does this seem fair? no he turned himself in to the police and its a $100. no weapon did not hurt any one.
- With what you know about proportion look and read what is in the image above. Does it seem just and fair? how does th ceo get 40 months for stealing 3 billion and the homeless man gets 15 years for stealing 100 dollars which he returned
- Why have you made this choice? because i think its right
- What would you have done if you were the judge? i would have let homeless man him go

Social Justice Case
It's not fair because in the first place, the person stole and only has to go to jail for 40 months. The man that's homeless only stole $100 and only went to jail for 15 years.

1. No It`s not fair.
2. No it`s still not fair even the
proportion disagrees.
3. The reason why it is not fair is
because that homeless man got sent to prison for 15 years for stealing a 100
dollar bill which he gave back. While the other guy the Ex-Ceo who stole 3
Billion Dollars only went to prison for 40 months which is about 3 years.
4. If I was the judge I would sent
the Ex-Ceo to 47 years and one month of imprisonment because I researched about
this guy named Allen Stanford and he stole 7billion dollars and got imprisoned
for 110 years. So then I divided 110 by 7 which equaled around 15.7years. Then
I multiplied it by 3 to get 47.1 years and 3 billion dollars. Also I would send
the homeless man to around 1-3 months of imprisonment because all he was that
he stole a 100 dollar bill then he gave it back afterwards. But what the
homeless man did I think was attempted Robbery.
Bonus Question
Question:
How tall is the tree on the left?
Answer:
or approximately
The guy is Canadian because he is walking in Assiniboine Park. The average
height of a Canadian is 6 ft so then I multiplied him by 3. So then I got 6*3=
18 ft. So the tree would be 18 ft tall

- No. In my opinion it doesn't seem fair and just one bit.
3. Why have you made this choice?
- I have made this choice because the homeless man only stole $100 and returned it the next day due to his conscience. And the CEO who fraud their company for $3 billion and only to be sentenced for 3 years; paying his debt $75 million a month. While the homeless man was sentenced for 15 years; paying his debt $2.50 every 4 and a half months (56¢ a month).
- I would have sentenced the homeless guy for a week or 5 months max for only taking a 100 dollar bill and returned it the next day. I would have sentenced the CEO for 15 years paying his debt $16 million a month.
